I Now Own Two Nonstick Pans!

I now have a 12″ and a 10″ pan.

I bought both pans through this link you can click on below:

OZERI Stone Earth Frying Pan by Ozeri, with 100% APEO & PFOA-Free Stone-Derived Non-Stick Coating from Germany

EatPlant-Based.com introduced me to these tools, and I am once again amazed at the actual NO STICK qualities they offer.

Tonight I took the 12″ pan, placed a tablespoon of the Vegan Cheese  in it, and shaped the “cheese” to fit a piece of Dave’s Killer Bread. I set the temperature low so it would begin to bubble, but not burn.

As it began to bubble, I placed a slice of bread on each and let them sit a few more moments.

When I made the attempt to flip the first slice, it began to slide across the surface, plainly not sticking!

It was perfect!

And no dairy!

Betty loved it!

I am a HERO!

A Video I Never Watched

Sometime around 2008, Betty came home from work telling me about a video she watched concerning PUS allowed in American dairy milk.

I told her I did not want to watch it, and I never did.

What I did do was stop drinking any milk, even chocolate milk.

I also stopped using liquid creamer in my coffee.

The thought of drinking pus was so strong I just stopped with the milk and cream.

I have no idea if the following video is anything like the one Betty watched, but I offer this video for your consideration.

I do have one question…

Why do humans not harvest HUMAN MILK?

There could be an industry where women earn a paycheck for selling breast milk, and since it is human breast milk, there would not be the issue of crossing into other species.

In fact, why do we not offer dog milk?

Think about the stray dogs captured… They could be milked and turned into a marketable commodity, right?

Oh wait, I heard the other day that they already are harvested for livestock feed protein additives…

Yeah, I read it in the book Eating Animals.

Ok, I am going to stop this blog now.

It is 3:30 am.

I might as well start the coffee.

I like my coffee hot, strong, and with no pus-filled secretions from a bovine lactation sack.

In other words, I like my coffee “black.”

The thought of having cream in it is “udderly” ridiculous.

Eating Science Experiments (You Want Large Fries With That?)

Even Grandma Roxie’s french fries were… treated with some chemical that the health inspector knew about. But he turned a blind eye to the fact that they were using the color preserving chemical.

Grandma Roxie and Grandpa Arzie had a little burger stand in Ropesville, Texas, on Highway 62.  Back in the late ’60s and early ’70s, I watched them cook up some of the best cheeseburger baskets in all of history.

Grandma was the best of cooks for her time, but the family lore describes the end of the traditional family meals at holidays because of the Eagle Drive-In. (The burger joint out on the highway)

The Arzie and Roxie Martin Family

That is Grandma Roxie in the middle there.  In charge.  They were the sweetest people.

That look in their eyes.  I get my “look” from those eyes.

***********

I watched them make the offerings of the drive-in menu as only Grandma Roxie could.  They were there every day except Christmas and Thanksgiving.

I also watched, and many times helped Grandpa Arzie put potatoes into the french fry cutting device, and turn a 50-pound bag of ‘taters into real french fries.

This is where the 5-pound bucket of fresh-cut fries received a dose of that white powder that kept the potatoes from turning brown.

Other than that ingredient, everything about Grandma’s french fries was 100% real.

I tend to remember they always wanted to hide the white chemical, especially when the health inspector came by.

(We will leave the subject of the oil in the fry vat for another day…)

I have read reports that the french fries of these days in which we live in 2018 have more than just white powder to preserve the color.

I have also read reports about chemicals used in the growing of the potatoes raised for America’s french fries.

Hey, all you vegans, french fries may be the only vegan option on most menus, but they are damned sure not healthy.

What about the other things we are eating today and have “bought the advertising bull shit” about? Pork, the other white meat… and how great it is to eat chicken breast… and the lean cuts of beef that are more healthy… and fish,  the brain food!

Wow.

Basically, humanity believes anything it wants to believe.  Or is told to believe.

We are so gullible.

Most of what America consumes in the Standard American Death Diet, diet programs, fad diets, pills, and potions are just FDA-approved science programs.

Those chicken breasts, pork chops, lean cuts of beef, salmon fillets, etc. are more science experiments than they are “real” dead carcasses of formerly alive farm animals.

The bull shit ads we see about contented cows, free-range chickens, and happy smiling pigs glad for their impending slaughter so their sacrifice can satisfy our learned tastes… is BULL SHIT.

What we are offered at the supermarkets in the dead animal section IS NOT FARM ANIMALS.

They are science experiments.

Think about the smell you encounter in the Meat/Seafood section at the supermarket on your next visit.

Think about that smell actually coating your respiratory system as you inhale the molecules of the rotting carcasses of the dead science experiments.

Did you ever stop to think that they might be frying chicken tenders and breaded okra next to the Meat Market all day long just to trigger your obedient salivation glands like a good, obedient Pavlov’s Dog?

“… Here, Boy!! Here, Boy!! Get your treat!  Be a good boy! Who’s a good boy, HUH!!??…”

(Maybe it is to cover the odor of rotting flesh and cheap, pine-scented disinfectants.)

So we pick up an 8-piece box of fried chicken with broken bones from when the Franken Bird struggled after the mechanical throat-cutter failed to “mercifully” kill them. And the backup killer, with his blade in hand, finished the “mercy” work, all the while breaking leg and wing bones.

(You don’t want to hear about the boiling fecal-water bath before the chicken is dunked in the cold fecal-water bath)

And if you think you are getting nourishment from eating these science experiments, think again.

For example, B-12 comes from healthy soil.  Believe me, the animals run through the Frankenstein factory farms have not set foot on healthy soil in so long, if ever, there can be no evidence in their dead muscle meat at all.

Read this book to see what is really happening in the Frankenstein food production world…

Eating Animals.

We are eating things we need to be aware of.

What we are eating is not what we think it is.

We are not eating farm animals.

And face it, folks, if we are eating and growing current and future generations of our children on this stuff, you have to wonder if we are going to be “human” for much longer…

In fact, in view of the way things look in this world we live in today, my grandparents would probably wonder if we are already something besides “human.”

Sometimes, I wonder too.

oldmanskinandbones.com

*************

I wonder if I could get in trouble for posting stuff like this?

The big business of factory farming spend lots of money to lie to the public about what really is happening… to hush new science that brings the truth about what is really happening…

IDK.

Oh well, might as well see if I can get in trouble for posting a YouTube link to my new favorite video?

Enjoy.

While we can.

Get In the KITCHEN! (Or End Up Not Healthy)

Yeah, I know we are all busy, but let’s be honest. We have been programmed to be faithful little consumers.

If you are going to be healthy, you are going to have to improve your time in the kitchen, pay more attention to the purchasing of real food, and stay away from the Drive-Through-Window Diet.

If you are having to tip wait staff more than the grocery carry out person, you are not doing it the healthy way.

And, realizing I have probably run off 99% of my readers by now, I will say it again…

YOU are responsible for your health.

Take charge … and YES, YOU CAN DO IT!

Stop allowing the advertisements and the guys at work to mandate your health.

I have had another grand adventure in the kitchen this morning, and I want to share it with you.

If I can do it, anyone can do it.

I had two cups of the best coffee in the world (Betty’s coffee of course), ran almost 5.5 miles, ate breakfast, drove about 9 miles to buy groceries, stopped halfway back to complete grocery purchases at another store, unloaded and put up said purchases, and then sat for a little rest about 11 am.

Then I saw a recipe for this!

I was hungry and got up to prepare this item!

Chickpea Nuggets (click here for recipe)

The picture on their website is much prettier than mine.

I altered the recipe a bit, but I do that with 95% of what I cook/bake.

In this case, I added more spices and a mix of Chia Seeds to act as a binding agent.  I may try oatmeal flour next time.

Here is the rating …

These are “Betty Approved.”

As you who know Betty, if she approves … it is good!

This is my plate.

The Chickpea Nuggets have ketchup and sriracha sauce on them, but they passed Betty’s taste test plain.

Oh, and the sandwich on the left of my plate is the No Tuna Salad Sandwich (click here for recipe)

If you have not seen my previous postings about this stuff, well, to put it mildly, it is SO Betty approved we rarely go many days without it in the fridge, ready to go!

Yep, I almost always make a double batch of that!

It is served on low sodium Ezekiel 4:9 bread with tomatoes and romaine lettuce.

All of that done this morning.

I do not want to be the reason I have to have another bypass operation.  I do not want to be the reason there is another attempt to place a stent in an artery to help blood flow or save my life.

Bypass operations, stents, drugs (statins, blood pressure, etc.) DO NOT FIX ANY HEALTH PROBLEM.

I was not “fixed” with the triple bypass back in October 2015.

The problem was the 60 years of eating unhealthy food prepared with no consideration for health.

I did it to myself with the Standard American Death Diet.

No more.

That lazy, irresponsible life is OVER.

That is why I do not count calories, I do not measure protein, nor do I FEAR CARBS.

Be IN CHARGE of your health.

You can do it.

You must.

In LOVE with a Sauce Pan….

I am getting pretty good at cooking!

I have found the proper tools are a MUST HAVE.

Here is my new TOOL!!

12″ Stone Earth Frying Pan by OZERI with 100% APEO & PFOA-Free Stone-Derived Non-Stick Coating from Germany.

I bought it through this link so that Terri Edwards of EatPlant-Based.com would get her credit with the seller. I use Terri’s recipes and resources often, and I want to support her success!

I have used this pan four times. I also bought a 10″ version which will be delivered this week.

First I made VEGAN BANANA OATMEAL PANCAKES from EatPlant-Based.com  (I throw in a lot of blueberries too!)

No stick! NO OIL !! No problem cleaning!

The next night I threw some potatoes in the microwave, then cooled them in a bucket of cold water, and then grated them to hash brown status with a whole yellow onion, a little veggie broth, and some Old-Fashioned Oats to give some ‘thickness.’

I then spread the contents of the entire bowl over the surface of the 12” Pan… kept the heat low so as not to burn and….. well, there you are!

They were fantastic!

THEY WERE ‘BETTY APPROVED’!!

No stick! NO OIL!! Clean up was a breeze!

I was so excited I tried a little different batch the next night, and they were just as good. And no stick, no oil, and no problem cleaning up!

Then again the next night I added more ingredients including some Vegan NO DAIRY Cheese, and they were also wonderful and ‘Betty Approved’!

I have noted the instructions where you are informed to never use metal utensils in the pan, and never use abrasive pads to clean after use.

I have also noted I have never spent this amount of money for a “fry pan.”

But folks, I have never had the quality of a kitchen tool as this.

It is worth every penny.

After my heart attack and decision to change my lifestyle to be ‘healthy,’ thus leaving on purpose the Standard American Death Diet, I have found I am willing to pay for what I need to be healthy.

That is a far better decision than paying for this…..

An almost 8″ scar. And see those three little ‘purple dots’ at the 10” mark?

Yeah, my friend, I ain’t doing that to myself again.

Nope.

Make the CHANGE in your life, you will be glad you did.

(You haven’t been noticing strange little chest pains lately have you?)

It is the food that will make the difference.

Thanks Terri !!

Thanks to The Crafty Proofer  Jantcy Masey for making this my first blog published after being proof read.  I had no idea how many mistakes I had over looked.

Give a look at her web page https://www.thecraftyproofer.com/ and see what she can do for yur proof reading needs!!

47 pages of Blogs not Published

I just counted and there are 47 Blogs I have started and they are still sitting in a file marked ‘DRAFT’.

(UPDATE!!  make that 53 as of today 8/11/2018)

A few are just to ‘angry’ or profane.

Others I couldn’t get the pictures just right.

Some I just needed to sit aside, and finish later…

And then came my new …. diversion…. running.

Yesterday I spent some time getting dressed, and equipped to go outside in the DARK…. then ran for 3 1/2 hours, and felt I needed to stop for the day and take care of ‘chores’.

Time is a factor.

Also I was a small town Texas High School Football Star, so, there was no time for learning to type and learn English….( I was pretty good at TEXAN with out training )…

Hey, until a few months ago I was still using Windows XP.

So Grandpa may well have ‘game’, but folks, this world still goes faster and faster every day…

I have a lot to learn.

I do not like Windows 10.

Hey, a lot of my photos are dated too!

I just noticed a picture of the first days I started running in March this year (2018) and my face was fairly plump….

Man, I need to change that one fast!

Point is….

…there is a lot I need to get done.

Also please be advised, I have no plans to employ a service to publish, manage or what ever they call it when someone manages my web site/ Blog.

But thanks for all those who have asked already.

(Jantsy…. I have not forgotten The Crafty Proofer )

Why do I do this anyway?

My main concern and motivation is that I want anyone who hears this message, knows that something as simple and affordable as Whole Food Plant Based Way of Life is just that…. simple and affordable.

AND that it can affect every part of the life of the ‘partaker’.

And that in a good way…. a HEALTHY way.

Am I saying the WFPB way of life is a ‘Silver Bullet Cure All’?

No, I am not.

I have been seriously WFPB since November 2015, and I still have Gray Hair…. rather receding Gray Hair, I had a cavity filled just the other day, my left foot is still flatter than flat, and I am still 5’8″ in height.

I would like to be ‘taller’, but …. alas …. (sigh)…

Well, enough of that.

Just remember I see no reason under the sun, to ever count calories, measure protein, nor fear carbs….

just eat whole foods, plants … those things with no processing, or as little as possible, and watch the sustainable changes happen…

… health happens.

(Just to let you know, I am pushing the ‘publishing’ of this blog because the Review of Eric O’Greys book  Walking With Peety, The Dog Who Saved My Life”.  came out with some strange spacing about half way through and I have no idea how to ‘fix’ it, and am checking to see if it continues in this Blog….  I hope all is well)

Also, Jantsy…. I have not forgot!

Book Review, “Walking With Peety,The Dog Who Saved My Life”

This book was suggested by a number of Running Club members.

These are real ‘tough guys’ in the Running group too..

My initial reactions to the suggestion to read a story about a dog, when I was wanting suggestions about RUNNING caused a bit of confusion on my part.

One of the suggestions to read the book came from a fellow Club member, named Eric.  (YES! ERIC O’GREY!)

I had only been running a few weeks and had just devoured “Finding Ultra, Rejecting Middle Age, Becoming One of the World’s Fittest Men, and Discovering Myself” by Rich Roll, and “Eat and Run: My Unlikely Journey to Ultramarathon Greatness by Scott Jurek.

I was on a roll and wanted more…. and this is where Running With Peety came in…. WAIT!  the title of the book was WALKING WITH PEETY….

Walking… …. ….. ?

I was just finding out I was, maybe, becoming a runner… walking did not seem attractive to me.

So after a wait, I finally purchased  “Walking with Peety The Dog Who Saved My Life”, Book by Eric O’Grey.

I was not ready for this book, so I waited a few more days, and then…. it was time.
I had been on a long run for me, which is anything over 8 miles these days, when the book I had been listening to completed, and I was ‘hungry’ for more learning via the audio reading over my ear buds while I was running.
While I was going past my house again, I stopped for more water, some bananas, and a quick download of another book to my phone.
The first book in line was “Walking with Peety The Dog Who Saved My Life”, Book by Eric O’Grey.
Before the next half mile, I was hooked.
I have now completed the book, and I can say, it is a book about running.  And living, loving, forgiving, building… … … and so much more.
WARNING! TOUGH GUYS!  (Y’all know who we are !!)
Be sure you have something to ‘wipe sweat’ several times during a run while listening to this book.
Three times, while running, I was glad anyone who saw me, must have thought I was just wiping the perspiration from my face, when in fact, I was shedding tears.
The second of those three times, I was just plain ol’ sobbing.
But the only people who know that are my wife, myself, and now, the readers of this blog/book review.
This is a book that every person in America should enjoy, and needs to read.
It is more than just a nice story.
This book could change your life … even save your life.
The epidemic of Chronic Lifestyle Diseases of Choice, and the toxic manner by which it is systematically destroying our Country as well as the individuals, is so sad… and so preventable.
You deserve this book.
You deserve the messages of this book.
Even you ‘TOUGH GUYS’.
Do yourself a favor, get this book, read it … then give it to those who can take their own happiness, in their own hands, and be really proud they did so.
Just like you will.
You see, the biggest message I received from the book was just that….. MY HAPPINESS is in my hands.
I do not need to be blaming, genetics, Mom or Dad, my brothers, my family, friends, the environment, the City, County, nor the Country for my happiness.
It is all IN MY HANDS.
There are so many other lessons in the book.
Trust me, it is worth every penny you spend to get it, and every minute you take putting it into practice.
I think it could also be the best Christmas Gift, Birthday Present, Graduation Gift, as well as ‘JUST BECAUSE’ gift you could ever give….
I wonder if the Local Library has one for lending?
Let’s get ‘happy’ what do you say?
Let’s get healthy, and consider there IS someone out there waiting for you to come rescue them…
Let’s find them!
oldmanskinandbones.com
OH YEAH!  HERE is a picture of Eric….  Before and after …. and Peety in the middle shot!
